Unusually warm temps over southern (high) Plains

A pretty impressive pattern across the US these days, with a short-wave trough crossing central US. Powerful WAA spreaded across the southern Plains and unusually warm temperatures are currently occuring across most of OK and TX. Tmax today are reaching between 70 and even above 80F which is incredibly high for this time of the year!

Here are today’s maxmum temperatures across the OK state, station Cheyenne in W OK reached value of 82F!

As the trough moves further east it will rapidly deepen into an intense cyclone and bring lots of lake effect snowfalls across the NE States during the next couple of days.
